Deleting a Part or a Route

You can change the design that impacts connected routes or parts using the Delete command, without fixing all contextual links for every route or part manually. This command improves productivity and design modification efficiency.

Before you begin: Open an object containing the network in which one or more routes or parts must be deleted.
  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select Part Mode as process mode.
  2. From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection .
For more information about the different selection options, see Selection Options and Process Modes.
  3. Select the part or the route you want to delete.
  4. On the context toolbar, click one of the following:
    • Delete : deletes only the part or route instance.
    • Delete with Merge : deletes the selected parts from the network and merges both routes into one route. This command is available if:
      • You select a part or a set of parts connected to two routes only.
      • The selection does not include any route.
Note: To multi-select parts, do one of the following:
      • From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection and press the CTRL key to select the parts one by one, or press SHIFT to select a set of parts.
      • From the Selection Options dialog box, select Connected Parts and click one of the part you want to delete. All the connected parts are selected as well.
    • Disconnect and Delete : disconnects and deletes the selected part from the network and deleted. The connected routes are also modified. This command is available only if there are objects to disconnect.
    Notes:
    • If you delete a branch, the branch port is still on the main route. To delete the branch port, select it and click Delete Branch Port on the context toolbar.
    • These commands are also available in the context menu.

If you delete a reference point, the related directional point is deleted as well.
