Creating a Spool

You can create a spool.

This task shows you how to:

Create an Empty Spool

You can create a spool without any object inside.

In the tree, activate the product in which you want to create the spool.
From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select HVAC Spool .
The HVAC_Spool dialog box is displayed.
Enter the details and click OK.

The empty spool is created. A new node is added in the tree. The discipline of the spool product is HVAC_Spool .

You can create a spool from an existing object.

In the tree, activate the product in which you want to create the spool.
From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select Spool Mode as process mode.
From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection .
For more information about the different selection options, see Selection Options and Process Modes.
Select one or more objects in the 3D area.

Note: Use the CTRL key to multiselect the objects.
On the context toolbar, click Create Spool .
The HVAC_Spool dialog box is displayed.
Enter the details and click OK.
The spool is created in Preliminary Design mode and contains the selected object.
