Disconnecting Spools

You can disconnect spool dependencies.

To modify a spool in a configured environment, you must create a new version of the spool and replace Spool A ver1 by Spool A ver2. However, spools can be connected between them with MCX links. If at anytime you need to modify one spool, then you also have to modify all the spools that are dependent on this spool. The Disconnect Spool Dependencies command allows you to remove all contextual MCX links aggregated under this spool.

Before you begin: Open an object containing spools with dependencies.
  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select Spool Mode as process mode.
  2. From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection .
For more information about the different selection options, see Selection Options and Process Modes.
  3. In the tree, select the spool you want to isolate.
Tip: You can also select the spool from the work area.
  4. On the context toolbar, click Disconnect Spool Dependencies .

All contextual MCX links aggregated under this spool are removed.

Note: You can also remove MCX links from the Spools Impacted dialog box.
