Changing the local order

You can change the order of curves, surfaces and faces.

While the command is active, you can increase, decrease, or change order options at will to see the effects of the changes. The command remembers the original condition of the input element, to allow to return to it if desired without the need to exit the command.


Before you begin: Select a 3D shape containing several curves or surfaces.
  1. From the Modification section of the action bar, click Change Order .
  2. Select one surface.
    The Local order text boxes are active.

    The global order options are not available, as only one element is selected.

  3. Click Analyze.
    The minimum and maximum order values in U (4 for Min and Max) and V (6 for Min and Max) direction are displayed in the Analyze Orders frame.
  4. Select Symbols.
    The U and V order values and directions are displayed in the work area.

  5. Increase the order in U direction to 5 and decrease the order in V direction to 5.
    A preview of the modified order is displayed in the work area.
  6. Click Apply.
