Converting a Fillet Surface to a Blend Surface

You can convert a fillet surface to a blend surface.

The selected surfaces and a radius or a chord length define the fillet surface. You can use two edges of the fillet surface's input curves (Radius Runout Lines, RRL) to create a blend surface.

Before you begin: Open a 3D Shape containing the fillet surface created in the previous task, see Creating a Fillet Surface.
  1. Double-click the fillet surface in the work area or the OmniFillet feature in the tree.
  2. Click Convert to Blend Type in the Explicit Controls section.

This option is only available for the Radius and Chord Length fillet types.

The fillet surface is converted to a blend surface with additional handles for RRL manipulation. The panel offers the blend surface options now.
  3. To move the RRLs, do one of the following:
    • Drag one of the arrow handles to move the RRLs independently on both sides.
    • Enter a Boundary Offset value in the panel to uniformly move both RRLs.
An offset from the RRL fillet curves is created.
  4. Use the torque handles to modify the RRL shape.
