Creating a Fillet Surface

You can create a fillet surface between two neighboring or intersecting surfaces, using a radius or a chord length.

You can convert a fillet surface to a blend surface (Convert to Blend Type option).

Before you begin: Open a 3D Shape containing two intersecting surfaces or neighboring surfaces with a common edge.
  1. Select two surfaces.
  2. Click OmniFillet .
A fillet surface is created in the quadrant of the selected point positions.

  3. Select the Fillet Type.
  4. To change the radius, do one of the following:
    • Click the Radius value in the panel.
    • Click the value displayed in the work area.
    • Drag the handles at the surface edges.
  5. Click the invert normal handle.
  6. Change the continuity for Side A and Side B.
  7. Reset the continuities on both sides to G2.
  8. In the Explicit Controls section, modify the Form Factor.
  9. Modify the Form Bias in the same way.

Form Bias is similar to Form Factor but the changes apply in an asymmetric way on each support. This allows you to create entities being closer to one of the two supports.

  10. Optional: Modify the Limitation Ends to limit the resulting fillet surface at its start or end.
