Creating a Loft Surface

You can create loft surfaces of surface type Perpendicular Curves (N) and Curve Net.


Before you begin: Open a 3D Shape containing a curve net.

Context: To distinguish Rail (guides) and Gen curves (profiles), the following colors are used in the images:

Rail A
Rail B
Gen A
Gen B

  1. Select two parallel curves as rail curves and an arbitrary number of curves running perpendicular to the rails and intersecting them.


  2. From the Surfacing section of the action bar, click OmniSurf .
    A loft surface type Perpendicular Curves (N) is created.

    The exterior curves are used as rail and gen curves at which you can modify the continuities.

  3. Click OK.


  4. Select the curves of a curve net.


  5. From the Surfacing section of the action bar, click OmniSurf .
    A loft surface type Curve Net is created.
  6. From the OmniSurf selector panel, click Curve Net .
    A loft surface type Curve Net is created.
  7. Click OK.
