Modifying Shapes using Laws

You can use different bell-shaped functions to control the range of influence of the modification on the whole object.

  1. Move the sliders in the Law section of the Sculpt panel to the right (= global modification).
  2. Select a control point row and modify it.
The whole control point row is modified.

  3. Undo the modification, move the sliders to the middle , and modify again the control point row.
The control point on which the robot is positioned is most strongly modified. For the other control points of the row, the modification influence decreases with the distance to this point.

  4. Undo the modification, move the sliders to the left (local modification), and modify again the control point row.
Only the control point on which the robot is positioned is modified.

  5. Optional: Use Link/Unlink Laws option to influence the effect of the modification synchronously or separately in u and v direction.
  6. Optional: Select Sync Laws synchronize the laws to reset them to equal u and v values
