Extrapolating Curves and Surfaces

You can extrapolate curves and surfaces.

Before you begin: Open a 3DShape containing curves and surfaces.
  1. Select a curve.
  2. Alt + middle-click on a curve and select Extrapolate in the mouse menu.

The extrapolation panel opens and the selection switches to subobject mode .

The curve has two modification handles at its extremities. The handle nearest to the pick position is the active handle that has a different shape.

  3. Move the active handle to extrapolate the curve at the selected end.

  4. Select a surface.
  5. Alt + middle-click on a curve and select Extrapolate in the mouse menu.
The extrapolation panel opens and the selection switches to subobject mode .
  6. Move the active handle at a surface edge to extrapolate the surface at this edge.
  7. Move the active handle at a surface corner to extrapolate the surface at this corner.
  8. Select Both sides in the extrapolation panel to extrapolate symmetrically opposite curve ends, surface edges or corners.
