Create an Alert Element

An Alert element is an intelligent datum element with the same properties as in Inactive mode.

The Alert mode offers additionally the possibility to display analyses indicating broken conditions caused by sculpting modifications on the input geometry.

Before you begin: Open a 3DShape containing a surface.

  1. Create a flange surface in Alert mode and exit the OmniSurf command with OK.
A Surface.x element is added to the tree. In the tree, the pencil in the icon is green.
  2. In the Sculpt panel, select Controls and Continuities .
In the work area, the G0 continuity label is displayed at the transition flange - input surface.

  3. Modify the control point row at the connecting edge of the input surface.
In the work area, G0 continuity label changes from green to red to indicate that the continuity is not kept. In the tree, the pencil in the icon turns to red.

  4. Clear Controls and double-click the flange surface.
The flange surface is recomputed and the OmniSurf panel opens.

You can modify the parameters of the flange surface.

  5. Click OK to confirm the modification and close the OmniSurf panel.
