Updating 3D Shapes Using Standard or Smart Update Mode

When sculpting a feature, you can choose whether it is updated in real time or only after the modification is done.

You can use this update mode:

  • with ICEM Design Experience features created with the Soft Parametric Update modes Rebuild, Reshape, and AutoReshape, allowing a dynamic update during sculpting actions.
  • with parametric features created in another app.
Note: Play in the Organize panel must be selected.

It is applied with the following actions:

  • Dynamic sculpting actions
  • Dynamic actions while creating or editing command actions (like limitation handles, offset handles, sliders)

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape containing a feature, for example a flange surface created with OmniSurf command in Soft Parametric Rebuild mode.
