About AEC Building and Spatial Elements (IFC 4)

At import, when an IFC building or spatial element is not mapped with an AEC object, an AECElementAssembly is created to contain any geometry associated to the building or spatial element.

When the AecElementAssembly is exported, an IfcElementAssembly is created.

IFC standard case and elemented case building elements are not created at export. Only the general case elements are created. For instance, when an AecBeam is exported, an IfcBeam is always created, never an IfcBeamStandardCase.
