About Data Setup for Converter for IFC

Data Setup is used to associate resources with apps. This topic introduces Data Setup resources and business logic for Converter for IFC.

A resource is a PLM object (for example, a catalog or a business rule) or another type of file (for example, a bitmap or a spreadsheet). In Data Setup, you can create resource tables and assign resources to them. These resources are then available in Converter for IFC.

As the owner of a collaborative space, you can declare the mapping of custom Pset (Property set) /Qto (Quantity Take Off) attributes to standard Pset/Qto attributes in a XML file stored in Data Setup. This mapping applies to all imports of IFC files made by the authors of the collaborative space. This is particularly useful to map attributes using non-Latin characters to attributes using exclusively Latin characters.
