Converting Meshes

You can convert meshes of a human model to surface geometries, subdivision surfaces, or solid surfaces.

This feature is useful when you need to work with other 3D modeling apps to design products for example.

This task shows you how to:

Convert Meshes to Surface Geometries

You can convert meshes of a human model to surface geometries.

  1. In the tree or 3D area, select one or more meshes.

Note: If nothing is selected, all meshes are converted.

  2. From the Human section of the action bar, click Convert to Surface .

Tip: You can also right-click meshes and select Convert to Surface.

In the tree, a new node appears with the surface geometries. During the process, no texture is applied and the original meshes are kept.

Convert Meshes to Subdivision Surfaces

You can convert meshes of a human model to subdivision surfaces. Then, you can edit your model in the Imagine & Shape app.

Before you begin: You must have the corresponding role to use this feature.
  1. In the tree or 3D area, select one or more meshes.

Note: If nothing is selected, all meshes are converted.

  2. From the Human section of the action bar, click Convert to Subdivision Surface .

Tip: You can also right-click meshes and select Convert to Subdivision Surface.

In the tree, a new node appears with the subdivision surfaces. During the process, no texture is applied and the original meshes are kept.

Convert Meshes to Solids

You can convert meshes of a human model to solids.

  1. In the tree or 3D area, select one or more meshes.
  2. From the Human section of the action bar, click Convert to Solid .
In the tree, a new node appears with the solids. During the process, no texture is applied and the original meshes are kept.
