Creating a Bevel

Bevel lets you create a bevel to increase the density of the mesh by replacing one edge by several ones.


Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a subdivision surface.
  1. Select the subdivision surface.
    A slider helps you define the number of cuts.
  2. From the Tools Palette, click one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Linear Bevel Creates a linear bevel.
    Convex Bevel Creates a convex bevel.
    Concave Bevel Creates a concave bevel.
    Attraction Modifies the weight.
    Smooth/Sharp Attraction Defines the attraction mode.
    Corner Type Defines the corner type.
    Propagation Propagates edges.
    Apply Validates the command.
  3. Choose the bevel type and select an edge.
  4. Click and move the pointer to modify the bevel size.
  5. Use the slider to modify the number of cuts.
