Defining the Curve Characteristics

You can display and modify the curve characteristics.


Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a curve.
  1. From the Shape Sculpt section of the action bar, click Modification .
  2. Optional: Click the curve.
  3. From the Tools Palette, click Characteristics .
  4. In the Curve Characteristics dialog box, change the value in the Order box or use the arrows to modify the maximum order.

    The more orders, the tighter the curve. By default, the order is set to 6. It can be comprised between 4 to 11.

  5. Select the Arcs Number option and use arrows to modify the maximum number of arcs.
    By default, it is not selected. In this case, the number of arcs is automatically computed according to the curvature of the curve. If selected, the default number is set to 1.
  6. Select the View Limits option to display the limit arcs in the work area.

  7. Click Default Values to restore the default values.
    Tips:
    • The default inputs enable the creation of a smooth curve.
    • Inputs are stored for each curve at creation and edition.
