Translating, Rotation, or Scaling a Surface at Once

You can combine the translation, rotation and scaling modes in a single command.


Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a subdivision surface.
  1. From the Shape Sculpt section of the action bar, click Modification .
  2. From the Tools Palette, click Translation / Rotation / Affinity .
  3. Click the surface to position the handles.

    The manipulator changes and a red zone appears depending on the pointer position:

    Translation
    • Planar translation: The pointer is located toward the inside of the manipulator.
    • Axial translation: The pointer is located away from the manipulator.


    Rotation The pointer is located away from the manipulator.

    Scaling The scaling mode is activated by pressing Alt.

  4. Select the elements to be manipulated and drag the pointer.
  5. Release the pointer when you are satisfied with the new position of the surface.
