Rotating a Surface

You can rotate a surface around one of the three axes of the handle.


Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a subdivision surface.
  1. From the Shape Sculpt section of the action bar, click Modification .
  2. From the Tools Palette, click Rotation .
  3. Optional: Click the surface to position the handles depending on the pointer position.
  4. Optional: Move the pointer to highlight the desired rotation axis.
  5. Hold down the left mouse button and drag to rotate the surface.
    The start and end points and the value of angular displacement along with its unit are displayed.

    • : Angular value
    • : End point
    • : Traced path
    • : Starting point

    Note: The angular value is not displayed if you have selected No Show Coord .
  6. Release the pointer when you are satisfied with the new position of the surface.
    Tip: You can press Ctrl while in the command to rotate the surface in five degree increments.
