Logging In to 3DEXPERIENCE

You can log in to 3DEXPERIENCE using 3DEXPERIENCE > Login command in Inventor.

The 3DEXPERIENCE menu is displayed in the Inventor application after you install Connector for Inventor.

Tip: It is recommended to run the CAD tool in the normal mode if a restrictive User Account Control (UAC) is set. Running the CAD tool in the Administrator mode with a restrictive UAC setting causes errors.

Before you begin:
  • In legacy or customer specific environments, the Inventor User role must be assigned to your user name.

In baseline behavior environment, the relevant roles must be assigned to you by the Administrator. Connector for Inventor uses all the standard roles defined for baseline behavior. The Reader role for baseline behavior is derived from the Integration User role. For more information, see Business Roles in baseline behavior User Assistance.

  • Ensure that you are assigned an Inventor and X-CAD Design Management license. For more information, see Connector for Inventor- Installation and Administration : Installation : Installing Connector for Inventor Server :Assigning Licenses.
  1. In the Inventor toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Login.

Note: Inventor connects to 3DEXPERIENCE if an active session exists.

    The 3DEXPERIENCELogin dialog box appears.
  2. In the Username box, type your user name.
This field is case sensitive. Make sure that you type letters in uppercase and lowercase exactly as specified by the administrator.
  3. In the Password box, type your password.
This field is case sensitive. Ensure that you type letters in uppercase and lowercase exactly as specified by the Administrator.
  4. In the Select Credentials dialog box, select options from the list for your current session.

If you have been assigned only one Credential, then it is considered as default and the select credentials dialog does not appear.

If you have been assigned multiple Credentials, then the select credentials dialog appears.

A Credential comprises of the following sections:

Organization: The list contains company, business unit, or other organizations that you are associated with.

Collaborative Space: The list of collaboration spaces that you have access to. A collaborative space is a workspace that contains objects related to a People and Organization project. For example, within the context of a specific project, you could have one collaboration space for Marketing and another for Engineering.

Role: The list of roles assigned to you.

Note: If Credentials are not available for a user, log in occurs without using the Credentials.
  5. Click OK.
Tip: To check whether your log on was successful, click 3DEXPERIENCE in the Inventor toolbar. All 3DEXPERIENCE commands except Login are enabled.
