Searching Designs in 3DEXPERIENCE

You can search for designs that exist in 3DEXPERIENCE from the 3DEXPERIENCE Open or 3DEXPERIENCE Insert dialog box.

  1. In the Inventor toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Open or Insert.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Open or the 3DEXPERIENCE Insert dialog box opens depending on your choice.
  2. Enter criteria as needed. You can use wildcards and enter multiple values (separated by commas, but not by a space) in any text field.

Note: Depending on your setup, you may see additional or fewer fields.

    1. Select the Case Sensitive check box if you want exact case matches only.

Note: By default, the Case Sensitive option is selected.

    2. In the Type text box, click [...] and select the required type from the Select Type dialog box.
    3. In the Name text box, enter the name of the object.
    4. In the Revision text box, enter a revision sequence or select Last from the list to search in the latest revision of the design.

You cannot enter multiple values in the text box.

    5. In the State list, select a lifecycle state.

You cannot select multiple states for searching designs.

    6. In the Owner text box, enter the name of the person who owns the design.
    7. In the Description text box, enter all or part (using wildcards) of the text in the description field.
    8. In the Folder, click [...] and select the project folder in your project space to search for the design. Select the workspace/projects folder and click OK. For more information on workspaces, see Using Workspaces.

Multiple selection of workspace/project folders is not supported.

  3. Click Search to run your search or click to reset the values of all fields to default value.
The search results are listed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Open dialog box.
