Displaying Degrees of Freedom

You can quickly access and assess the degrees of freedom of an assembly by displaying detailed DOF information, including the elements involved, list of DOF, number of corresponding engineering connections, and a B.I. status.

Before you begin: Open an assembly.
  1. Select a component in the tree or in the 3D area.
    A label appears and displays:
    • The component name
    • The B.I. Assembly Design: Understand status
    • The list of degrees of freedom combining translations and/or rotations
    • The number of engineering connections involving this component.

    Translations and/or rotations are represented in the 3D area with black arrows.

  2. Click anywhere to clear the selection.
  3. Close the B.I. Essentials list.
