Defining a Dressup for a Mechanism

Dressup allows you to create multiple rigid engineering connections at once. This is an easy way to associate 3D dressing components to each component of a conceptual mechanism (skeleton) to allow them to move together during the kinematics simulation.

  1. In the Dressup dialog box, select a product to which you want to attach a product in the model using the Mechanism products list.
The product is highlighted in the tree and reframed in the 3D. All other products from the mechanism become transparent in the 3D.
  2. In the work area, select one or more products in the model to attach to the product from the Mechanism products list.
The selected products appear in the Attached products list and are identified by the same color-code in the 3D.
  3. To detach a product:
    1. From the Mechanism products list, select a product.
    2. In the work area, cancel the selection of the attached product from the model.
  4. To delete the rigid engineering connections associated with the dressup:
    1. From the Mechanism products list, select a product.
    2. In the work area, cancel the selection of the attached product.
  5. To center the tree according to the selected product, right-click a product in the Mechanism products or Attached products list and select Center Graph.
  6. Click OK.

In the tree, a Dressup node appears, including the rigid engineering connections :

Important: A rigid engineering connection appears under the Dressup node when the attached product it connects does not become a mechanism product (by activating new engineering connections in the Mechanism Manager).

Tip: To edit a dressup, double-click the Dressup node in the tree.
