About Relation Status

The synchronization process affects the status of a relation.

Resolution Status
The relation status applies primarily to:
  • Broken repository: the relation has been broken and the relation status has already been saved to the database.
  • Broken session: the relation has been broken in the current session and the relation status has not been saved to the database.
  • Out of workspace: the relation points to components which are not in the current design workspace.
  • Not open: the relation is not loaded in the current session and the pointed component exists in the database.
  • Not open, another minor version in session: the relation references a sensitive minor version of the component that differs from the previously minor version used when the relation was created.
  • Minor version in session not initially pointed: the relation references an insensitive minor version of the component that differs from the previously minor version used when the relation was created.
Synchronization Status
The synchronization status applies to:
  • Component:
    • the component is synchronized when at least one relation is synchronized, and no relation is unsynchronized.
    • the component is unsynchronized as soon as one of its relations is unsynchronized.
    • the component is neutral (i.e. no icon mask) if all of its relations are neutral.
  • Set:
    • the set is synchronized when at least one relation is synchronized, and no relation is unsynchronized
    • the set is unsynchronized as soon as one of the relations it regroups is unsynchronized.
    • the set is neutral (i.e. no icon mask) if all its relations are neutral.
  • Relation.
  • Relation toward a Port.
Synchronization vs Resolution
The table below describes the available combinations of resolution and synchronization statuses :
Synchronized UnsynchronizedNeutral
Open in sessionNo icon neither mask.
Minor version in session not initially pointed
Not open, another minor version in session
Not open
Out of workspace (1)
Broken session (1)
Broken repository (1)

(1) The synchronization status cannot be determined.

Disabling the Synchronization
When the synchronization of the relation is turned off, the relation is ignored during the PLM Update; however, the status of the relation synchronization is computed:
