Constraining a Component with the Robot

You can drag a component using the Robot by snapping geometries.


Before you begin:
  • Open an existing assembly that contains 3D shape representations.
  • Select the Robot Snap Mode option.
  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Engineering Connection .
    The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box appears.

    The Engineering Connection Assistant helps you select and position components to create engineering connections.

  2. Click a geometry on the first component.

    The selected geometry is highlighted and the component is transparent.

  3. Select the center of the Robot and press Shift.

    Hold the key and the left mouse button.

  4. Move the component above the desired geometry of the second component.

  5. Release the key and the left mouse button.

    A constraint is created.

    The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box is updated.

  6. Click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.
