About Topology Maps

The Topology Map visualization tool generates a 2D representation of a mechanism or submechanism by displaying its components and their connections.

Using a Topology Map

The topology map displays the products, joints, motors, and force elements included in the current mechanism.

The mechanism components appear in nodes. The products are displayed in circles, and the joints and motors in rectangles. The relations between the components are represented by arrows.

To modify the list of included joints, or the type of engineering connections, use the Mechanism Manager . For more information, see Defining a Mechanism.

Note: The topology map is updated automatically. If you remove every joint from a product, the product disappears from the topology map.
