Polyhedral Geometry in Mechanical Systems Design

A polyhedral geometry is a fixed tessellation of an exact geometry. You cannot reference a polyhedral geometry, but you can reference a product containing a polyhedral geometry. This topic lists the commands that cannot be used with polyhedral geometry.

Note: The commands using selected or referenced canonical geometries cannot be used with polyhedral geometry.

  • Gravity : You cannot orient gravity using polyhedral geometry.
  • Spring : You cannot reference polyhedral geometry as supports.
  • Bushing : You cannot reference polyhedral geometry as supports.
  • Engineering Connection : You can only define assembly constraints using products containing polyhedral geometry, or by using any additional exact geometry or primitive geometry, like axis systems.
