About the PLM Update Graph

The PLM Update Graph lets you visualize the relations and dependencies between the components of an assembly.

To open the PLM Update Graph panel, click Update Graph in the Update Assistant dialog box.

The following components are visible:

  • Root reference
  • Representation references
  • Instances

The color of the components corresponds to the 3D coloring of their status. For more information, see Update Assistant.

The relations between components are represented by blue arrows linking the pointing component to the pointed component. The nature of the dependency is specified above the arrow.

Three dependency relations are displayed: engineering connections, relations, and publications.

Note: For publications, the arrow points to the publication icon visible on the pointed component.
Tip: Different components can be included in the same node. To see the list of included components, hover over the node .

The following options are available in the PLM Update Graph:

  • Open selected dependency: opens a selected dependency.
  • Ignore dependency branch: ignores one or more dependency branches for the update.
Note: To reactivate a branch, select the root component and click .
Important: Closing the Update Assistance dialog box or clicking the PLM Update command from the action bar reactivates all the branches.
  • Apply status filter: displays only the components corresponding to the selected status or statuses.
  • Change orientation: switches the orientation of the graph (horizontal or vertical mode).
Note: You can also drag the components to modify their position in the graph.
