Creating a New Simulation

You can create a new simulation of a selected type.

You can start a simulation while working on a product in another app, or you can enter the app and select a product to use in the simulation. For more information, see Creating New Objects in the 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps.

  1. There are two ways to create a new simulation:
    • From the Compass, select the app you want to use to create the simulation.
    • From the top bar, select New Content. In the list of types, expand Simulation Meta-Modeler.

Select the type of simulation to create, and click OK.

Select Kinematics Simulation to create a kinematics simulation, and click OK.

Tip: Right-click a simulation type, and select Add to favorites to add the simulation to the list of favorite types at the top of the New content dialog box. The favorite types also appear directly under the Add menu.

  2. In the PLM attribute dialog box, enter an appropriate name and attributes for the Simulation, then click OK.
The product opens in the selected app.
  3. If a product is not open, use the Content Chooser to select a product on which to perform the simulation.
  4. You can save your simulation by selecting Share > Save > Save with Options from the top bar. You can choose to save your simulation and its categories. For more information, see Saving Objects in the 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps.
