Managing Libraries of Component Families

You can create and manage PLM attributes with the Library Management function in Component Family Definition.


Before you begin:
  • You must have created a generic model that contains a series of part attributes.

  1. Click Manage Components Family Libraries.

    The Library management tab opens.

  2. In the Library options section, click and select a library from the 6WTags search bar.
  3. Identify the correct class and double-click.
    The Library management tab reopens.
    • From the list, select the appropriate class.
    • Depending on the selected class, the associated key words and relative class attributes appear in the Attributes management section.
  4. In the Library options section of the Library management panel, the following options are available:

    Library Choose from the library that you want to manage the PLM attributes.
    Class Select a class.
    Fill class with resolved models Allows you to fill a class with resolved models.
    Update existing items Allows you to update existing items.
    Empty class before execution Allows you to empty a class before instantiating.
    Remove only items from current family Gives you the option to remove only the items in the current family.
  5. Select the Family columns and Class attributes, then click the right-facing arrow to create the Binding.

    Note: Repeat with as many attributes if required.

  6. From the library, select the required parts and click Fill Class.
    The library class is successfully filled and appears in your IP Classification dashboard.
