Managing Family Connections in a Collaborative Space Context

You can select and update the connection information required to enable on-demand generation by non-family owners.

The family generation mechanism ensures that generated models are owned by the family owner. If another user asks for a generation, this generation is performed in a batch that connects under the family owner identity.

Note: When the family owner changes a password, or when the ownership of the family is modified, this mechanism does not work any longer: The family owner must open the family, the embedded connection information is updated and the on-demand generation mechanism is available again.

Before you begin: Ensure that you are working in a collaborative space context.
  1. From the secondary area of the Component Family Definition section, click Manage my Families.
    The Manage connection information on families tab opens.
  2. Click Check and update if needed.
    The status is updated.
  3. Click Close.
