Inserting a New Object Parameter

You can create an object parameter that can be used both in ENOVIA and on the client side.

Before you begin: You must have created an object that can aggregate aggregated parameters.
  1. Enter the parameter title in the Parameter tab and click the Select Parameter Type tab.

The Description field is not mandatory contrary to the Title one.

  2. Create the parameter:
    1. Select the type of the parameter from the Type list.

When creating or editing dimensioned parameters, you can decide to modify the parameter unit set in Me > Preferences > 3D Modeling > Multi Discipline Automated Engineering > Basics > Units. To do so, use the Display Unit list to select the unit. The parameter value and its unit are displayed in the tree.

    2. Enter a value in the Value box.

Entering a parameter value is not compulsory. The value box can be left empty.

    3. Optional: Select Minimum Value or Maximum Value if you want to apply bounds to your parameter.
    4. Optional: Select Included if you want the bounds to be included or excluded.
    5. Optional: Enter the minimum/ maximum tolerance value as well as the minimum/maximum precision values.

This option refers to the nominal value. When defined, this value can be considered as an objective to reach. In this case, it lets you define its validity range. This value can be expressed in percentage or in the parameter unit.

    6. Enter the minimum/maximum precision values. The precision refers to the nominal value. This option lets you define an acceptable error on the nominal value. The precision must be inferior to the tolerance. If not, it is useless. This value can be expressed in percentage or in the parameter unit.
    7. Select Add Multi-values if you want your parameter to have more than one value.
    8. Select Add authorized values if you want to limit the possible values for your parameter.
    Click OK.

An aggregation relation is created between the object and the parameter you created.
