This topic provides you with information about product tables. The main difference between a design table and a product table is that a product table enables you to work with products whereas a design table enables you to work with parts only. A component family can be based on a product containing a product table.

A product table is an associativity tool that enables you to:

  • Modify an assembly structure as well as its parameters.
  • Enable and disable Product instances (True or False).
  • Replace family items instances by other items belonging to the same family.

Below is an example of a product containing four product or Representation references and four product or Representation instances driven by a product table.



Product Table Use

Below are two examples of use the same product table.

  • In the first example, the generic product appears in blue, the P1.1 and P2.1 (product instances) are set to True and thus are enabled in the tree. Both length parameters defined in the row are applied.
  • In the second example, the generic product appears in green, the P1.1 and P2.1 (product instances) are set to False and thus are disabled in the tree whereas P3.1 and P4.1 are enabled and thus are displayed in the tree. The length defined for P4 is applied.
