Instantiating an Engineering Template From Session, and From a Catalog

You can instantiate an engineering template from a catalog, or from the current session.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: You must have created a product to instantiate your engineering template and saved it in the database. To know more, see Engineering Templates Capture: Creating an Engineering Template.

From Session

You can instantiate an engineering template from session.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Engineering Template Instantiation .
  2. In the Search box, enter tmp: followed by the name of your template, and click Search .
  3. Click Engineering Template Instantiation and select the From Session Tab.
  4. Click Retrieve loaded data.
  5. Click OK to validate your selection.
    The Insert Object dialog box opens.
  6. Make the appropriate selections in the tree or in the 3D area.
  7. Click OK to validate your selection.
    The instantiated template appears.

From a Catalog

You can instantiate an engineering template from a catalog.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click .
  2. In the Catalog Browser, double-click the catalog in the list.
    The Insert Object dialog box appears.
  3. Make the appropriate selections in the tree or in the 3D area.
  4. Click OK to validate your selection.
    The template is instantiated.
