Specifying a Measure in a Formula

You can use values captures from the 3D area in formulas.

Note: The following measures can be used in formulas:
  • Distance between two points
  • Total length of a curve
  • Length of a curve segment - between a point and the origin or between a point and the curve extremity
  • Length of a curve segment - between two points
  • Area of an extruded surface.

Before you begin: You must have created geometry with a curve.
  1. Open the geometry.
  2. From the Tools section of the action barClick Formula .
  3. Create a parameter:
    1. Select a parameter type, for example Length or Area with Single Value from the New Parameter of type list, then click New Parameter of type.
    2. Rename the parameter and click Apply.
  4. Add a formula to the parameter:
    1. Select the parameter from the list and click Add Formula.
    2. Select the Measures item from the Dictionary list.
    3. From the list of measures, double-click a function.
    4. Fill in the Formula editor box selecting an element in the 3D area.
    5. OK to confirm the formula definition and OK to add the parameter and the formula to the model.
