Editing Relations

You can edit relations in a safe manner.

This task shows you how to:

Edit Relations: At least One of the Pointed Components is not Loaded in Edit Mode

You can edit relations for which at least one of the pointed components is not loaded in edit mode.

  1. In the Search box of the Top Bar, enter part:Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 string and click .
  2. Right-click Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 and select Explore.
  3. In the Tree-view select the components of the image here below and right-click to open.
  4. Double click Length.1 under Parameters. The Edit parameter dialog box displays.
  5. Click Formula . .
    A Warning message appears: Editing this object from a technological package is not allowed because it uses unloaded parameters or features. Would you like to load all the parameters or features?
  6. Click Yes to load the pointed components in edit mode. The Formula Editor dialog box appears so you can edit the formula.

Edit Relations: At least One of the Pointed Components is not Open in Session

You can edit relations for which at least one of the pointed components is not open in session.

  1. In the Search box of the Top Bar, enter part:Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 string and click .
  2. Right-click Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 and select Explore.
  3. In the Tree, select the components and right-click to open.
  4. Double-click Length.1 under Parameters. The Edit parameter dialog box displays.
  5. Click Formula . A Warning message appears: Editing this object from a technological package is not allowed because it uses unloaded parameters or features. Would you like to load all the parameters or features?
  6. Click either No to cancel or Yes to display the Reroute of relation's broken links dialog box. The system detects one item missing.

    Depending on the component status you can perform two different actions:

    Status Action Result Comments
    Component not in session

    The link to the component is deleted. A local clone of the pointed parameter is created. Always enabled
    Component not in session

    The missing component is loaded in session. The relation can be edited as usual. Only enabled for components which are not in session. Only enabled for components which are not in session.

Edit Relations: At least one of the pointed Parameters/Features is deleted out of context

You can edit relations for which at least one of the pointed parameters or features is deleted out of context.

  1. In the Search box of the Top Bar, enter part:Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 string and click .
  2. Right-click Tool_To_ReconnectProduct1 and select Explore.
  3. In the Tree-view select the components of the image here below and click Open.
  4. Double click Length.1 under Parameters. The Edit parameter dialog box displays.
  5. Click Formula . A Warning message appears: Editing this object from a technological package is not allowed because it uses unloaded parameters or features. Would you like to load all the parameters or features?
  6. Click either No to cancel or Yes to display the Reroute of relation's broken links dialog box. The system detects two items missing.

    Link Broken

    The missing component can be rerouted. This command allows you to replace the old parameter by a new one. Always enabled
    Link Broken

    The link to the component is deleted. A local clone of the pointed parameter is created. Always enabled
    Important: The Reroute of relation's broken lins OK button is disabled until an action has been performed on all the listed items.
