Connecting Relations at Assembly Level

You can safely edit and modify relations at an assembly level.


Before you begin: Make sure that both Parameters and Relations check boxes are checked (Me > Preferences > 3D Shape Infrastructure > Display.

  1. Click Add > Content.
  2. In the New Content window, click Physical Product.
  3. Rename the product, Product_1 in this example.
  4. Right-click Product_1 and select Insert > Product > Physical Product. Rename the product , Product_2 in this example.
  5. Right-click Product 2 and select Insert > Representation > 3D Shape.
  6. Double-click the shape under Product_2 and
  7. Create two parameters of length type. To do so, do the following:
    1. Click Formula .
    2. Click New Parameter of type twice to create two length parameters and click OK.
  8. Double-click Product 1 and repeat step 2 to create a product named Product_3.
  9. Add a parameter of length type to Product_3. To do so, do the following:
    1. Click Knowledge Engineering Specification from the secondary area of the Tools section.
    2. Click Formula .
    3. Click New Parameter of type to create a parameter of length type and click OK.
  10. Double-click Product_1 and click Knowledge Engineering Specification from the secondary area of the Tools section. In the Name box enter Knowledge Engineering Specification. Click OK to validate.
  11. Create a parameter of length type. To do so, do the following:
    1. Click Formula .
    2. Click New Parameter of type to create a length parameters.
    3. Click Add Formula.
    4. n the Formula editor box, select a parameter located under the 3DShape, enter "+" and select a parameter located under Product_3.
    5. Click OK
    Relations are now connected at the product level.
  12. In the top bar, select Share > Save > Save with Options.
