Solving a PLM Rule Set Based on a Selection of Objects

Before using the Solve command, you can select which objects the rule set applies to in the tree.


Before you begin: You must have created a rule set containing the same check as in Running a PLM Rule Set on a Model and saved it in database.

Associating a Rule Set to a Resource Table
  1. Open a model. The model used in our example contains holes.
  2. From the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps , and select Quality Rules Reuse.
  3. Click Solve .
    The Object Selection dialog box opens.
  4. Click Add Rule Sets .
    Note: If you associated rule sets to a resource table, these rule sets are displayed in the Available RuleSets column. Use the row to add rule sets to the Selected Rule Sets column.
  5. Enter the name of your rule set in the Search box, and click Search.
    The list of available rule sets appears in the list.
  6. Double-click the rule set you want to use.
    The rule set is now displayed in the PLM Solve with Selection dialog box.
  7. Click the Choice of inputs tab or click Next.
  8. In the tree, select your objects. In our example, select Linear Size.1, Linear Size.2 and Linear Size.3 under Annotation Set.1 and click Add Objects to Inputs .

    Notes:
    • enables you to select the root meaning that all objects are analyzed under this root.
    • enables you to select the objects you want to analyze.
    • enables you to remove objects from the list of objects to analyze.

  9. Click the Results tab or click Next. Click to update the checks status.

    Notes:
    • enables you to update the status of the checks.
    • enables you to display a report in HTML format.
    • enables you to display a report in XML format.

    The results are displayed in the table.
