Managing Attributes

You can sort and rename attributes, and define their sorting order. To see how to launch the report, see Knowledge Basics User's Guide: Generating Knowledge Reports.

Before you begin: You must have created a Knowledge report.
  1. Access the Knowledge report.
  2. Double-click the Column Heading and rename it.
  3. In the Attribute management frame, double-click the Sort column to assign a sort order to your types.
Note: The following options are available:
    AttributesComment
TypeType of the object you selected when adding the attribute. You cannot edit this value.
Secondary TypeUsed to select the instances/references related to the occurrence. To do so, click the Type cell, then click the Secondary Type cell to display the list of types. The attribute cell is reset. To reselect the attribute, click the cell again. Attributes shown after selecting the secondary type are related to this type. If secondary types are selected, the generated report is based on these types but the object selection is based on the selected type.
Attribute Attribute name. You cannot edit this value.
Column HeadingUsed to define the heading of the column for the attribute. The default value is name of the attribute. You can choose to enter the column heading designed to be used as heading in the generated report.
UnitUsed to define the unit to be used for the selected attribute. All the attribute values are converted to the new defined unit when generating the report. If no unit is defined, the default unit set is applied.
FormatUsed to specify the number of digits after decimal point.

For example if number 10.123456 (same as 10,12345) and format specified is 2, then result value is 10.12(10,12).

SortIs provided in ascending or descending order. To specify the ascending or descending order, double-click the column cell and choose the appropriate option (Sorting is provided for up to 3 columns.)
Sorting order Used to specify the order for sorting the multiple columns. Priority is defined by the keywords First, Second, and Third. These keywords determine the priority in which the columns are sorted.
GroupByGroups the selected attributes. GroupBy is provided only for single columns.
OperationsPerforms mathematical operations such as sum, average, maximum, minimum, and counts for the attribute.
  4. In the Attribute management frame, apply a sorting order to your types. First for the first one and then for the second one.
    Notes:
    • When performing a sorting operation, if the type of Sort is defined and the Sorting Order is not defined for a particular attribute, then the first sorting is taken into account.
    • If one of the sorting orders is missing, those of lower order are given higher priority (for example if only the first and the third orders are defined and not the second one, then the third one is considered as the second order. )
