Managing Classification Attributes

You can add and manage the existing classification attributes.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin:
  • You need to create the required classification attributes in the IP Classification app to use them to in the IP Classification Editor widget.

View Classification Attributes

You can view the list of callsification attributes.

  1. Open a class and click the Classification Attributes tab.
  2. The Classification Attributes tab lists the following details.

    Column Name Description
    Title Title of the attribute.
    Name Name of the attribute.
    Type The data type defined for the attribute.
    Description A brief description of the use of the attribute.
    Default Value The default attribute value, if one has been defined. If a dimension is specified when creating the classification attribute, the default value is shown with the unit.
    Dimensions (Unit) The dimensions of the attribute defined when it was created. This column is available only for the attribute type Real.
    Notes:
    • If a preferred unit is selected, the selected unit is displayed in the bracket.
    • If a dimension is set to MKS unit, the MKS unit is displayed in the bracket.
    • If a unit is not selected, only dimension is displayed.
    Predicate The predicate selected for the attribute when it was created.
    Authorized Values The authorized values for the attribute. This column is displayed only for the attribute types String, Integer, and Real.
    Notes:
    • For the attribute type String, special characters other than space and underscore are not allowed.
    • For the attribute types Integer and Real, special characters like plus sign (+) and exponential are not allowed.
    Display in 6WTags Whether the attribute with 6WTags is used or not. This column is displayed only for attribute types String and Boolean.
    Is Multivalue Whether the attribute is a multivalued attribute. If it is multivalue, the value as True is displayed Otherwise, the value is displayed as False.
    Minimum (Inclusive) The minimum value for the range. This column is displayed only for the attribute types Integer and Real.
    Maximum (Inclusive) The maximum value for the range. This column is displayed only for the attribute types Integer and Real.

Add Existing Classification Attributes

You can search and add existing classification attributes.

  1. Open a class and click the Classification Attributes tab.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Add Existing Classification Attributes.

    Tip: You can also right-click the content area in the Classification Attributes tab and click Add Existing Classification Attributes in the context menu.

    The Add Existing Classification Attributes dialog box appears.
  3. Search for the required classification attributes and click Add.

The selected classification attributes are added.

Remove Classification Attributes

You can remove the added classification attributes.

  1. Select the required classification attribute, and from the page toolbar, click Remove Classification Attributes from the page toolbar.

    Tip: You can also right-click the classification attribute and click Remove Classification Attributes from the context menu.

    A confirmation message appears.
  2. Click Remove.

The selected classification attribute is removed but not deleted.
