Managing Libraries

You can create and manage libraries using the IP Classification Editor widget.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Library

You can create a general library.

From the IP Classification Editor home page, click Create New Library from the page toolbar.

Tip: You can also right-click the content area and click Create New Library from the context menu.

The library is created and is shown in the content area.

Delete a Library

You can delete a library.

  1. Select the required library and from the page toolbar, click Delete.

    Tip: You can also right-click a library and click Delete Library from the context menu.

    A confirmation message appears.
  2. Click OK.

The library is deleted.

Export a Library

You can export a library in XML format to your local workspace.

  1. Select the required library.
  2. From the page toolbar, click More Actions, and click Export Library.

    Tip: You can also right-click a library and click Export Library from the context menu.

The library is exported to your local workspace.

Recommendation: Export the libraries created in IP Classification Editor.

Import a Library

You can import a library in XML format from your local workspace to IP Classification Editor.

  1. From the page toolbar, click More Actions, and click Import Library.

    Tip: You can also right-click the home page content area and click Import Library from the context menu.

    The Import Library Structure XML dialog box appears.
  2. Click Choose file and select the required xml file from your local workspace.

    Note: Before importing a library structure, the non-existing classification attributes must be created in the IP Classification app.

  3. Click Validate.
    If the validation is successful, a message appears informing that the file can be imported.
  4. Click Import & Close.

The library is imported successfully.

Recommendation: Import the libraries created in the IP Classification Editor widget.
Notes:
  • You can click Change Maturity from the page toolbar to change the maturity of a library. For more information, see Changing Maturity.
  • You can click Share from the page toolbar to share a library. For more information, see Sharing Objects with Other Users.
