Reviewing Autonaming of Objects

You define how IP Classification names new objects. You can allow users to assign names, or you can automatically assign a name to the object. Autonaming assigns a prefix that IP Classification uses as part of the object's name. When the object is created, the object name includes the prefix plus an incremented number. Autonaming is done based on the object type.

IP Classification includes two business objects for each type to be named automatically: an eServices Object Generator object and an eServices Number Generator object. See the Collaboration and Approvals Administration Guide for more details on autonaming.

Find or list objects of type,*eService*.

list type TYPENAME;

Where,

TYPENAME: name of the type or you can enter with wildcard * character with type name.

For example:

list type *eService*;

The screen displays several "eService Number Generator" objects that show how naming works. The automatic names are suggestions only.

To customize the naming to suit your business processes, see the "Configuring Using Schema" chapter of the Collaboration and Approvals Administration Guide.
