Finding and Selecting Attributes

You can search for attributes to add them to a group.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Leader, Owner
  • App-specific: Librarian


Before you begin: View the list of attributes for a group (see Attribute Groups List) or create a new group (see Creating a New Attribute Group).
  1. Select Add Existing from the page Actions menu or page toolbar. You can also click next to the Attributes field on the Create New Attribute Group page.

    Note: You can add only the attributes that were created in IP Classification using the Create Classification Attribute command.

  2. To filter the list of attributes:
    1. Enter criteria for any combination of these items:

      Filter Criteria Description
      Name Matches This field matches the Actual Name. You cannot filter using the Display Name.

      Type a name or part of a name, using the asterisk as a wildcard. Multiple names can be included, separated by commas. For example, filtering on A*, B* will show all names that start with A or B. Use exact case and do not include spaces.

      Type Select a data type in the list. Attribute data types are Boolean, Date/Time, integer, real, string, or All.
      Unused Check this box if you want to show only attributes that are not already included in an attribute group.

    2. Click Filter.
  3. Check all attributes that you want to add to the attribute group.
  4. Click Done.

Note: When you add existing attributes to the attribute group, Unused check box in the Select Attributes page is cleared by default.
