Editing Classification Attributes from a BOM

You can edit the values for classification attributes when looking at a bill of materials (BOM).

The BOM PowerView (see the Engineering BOM Management User's Guide) includes a report named Classification Format. This format includes attributes added to a part from any class that the part belongs to, and provides access to edit the values for those attributes.

You can also edit classification attributes from the Classifications category for a part; see Editing Class Attributes.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Leader
  • App-specific: Librarian

  1. In the Classification Attributes column, click View Details for the part whose attributes you want to edit.
  2. Click Edit on the Classification Attributes toolbar.
  3. Edit any values required. The available attributes depend on which classifications this part has been added to.
  4. Click Done.
