Creating Part Libraries

You can create a part library.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Leader
  • App-specific: Librarian

  1. Click Compass and select IP Classification.
  2. From the Actions menu, click Create Library > Create Part Library....
  3. Enter the details:

    Field Name Description
    Type The type of library you selected to create. You can click to change to a different library type.
    Title Type the title for the part library.
    Description Type the details that describe the part library.
    Policy Select the policy to govern the part library. Usually, only a single policy is supported for each library type.
    Owner Defaults to your user name. To select another user to be responsible for the Part library, click perform a search, and select a person from the search results list.
    Notify Click to search, and select one or more users to be notified, that the part library has been created.
    Message You can edit the default message sent to the list of people in the Notify field.
    Add To Folders To add this part library to a folder, click and select a folder.

  4. Click OK.
