Creating a Ceiling

Ceiling lets you create a ceiling from a sketch profile or from an internal space.

  1. In the Ceiling dialog box, choose either:
    OptionStep
    To Create a ceiling from a profile
    1. Select Profile .
    2. In the 3D area, click the profile sketch that is to serve as the basis for the ceiling.
    3. In the dialog box, from the ceiling location list, select one of the following:
      • - Added to create the ceiling both inside and outside the building.
      • - Interior to create the ceiling only inside the building.
      • - Exterior to create the ceiling only outside the building.
    To create a ceiling from a space
    1. Select Space .
    2. In the 3D area, click a wall of the space requiring the ceiling.
    3. To specify the wall offset:
      1. In the dialog box, from the ceiling options list, select Wall Offset .
      2. In the 3D area, drag the Wall Offset handle or enter the offset in the value box.
  2. To specify the ceiling height, in the 3D area, drag the Ceiling Height handle or enter the height in the value box.
  3. To specify the ceiling thickness:
    1. In the dialog box, from the ceiling options list, select Ceiling Thickness .
    2. In the 3D area, drag the Ceiling Thickness handle or enter the thickness in the value box.
  4. To specify the reservation offset:
    1. In the dialog box, from the ceiling options list, select Reservation Offset .
    2. In the 3D area, drag the Reservation Offset handle or enter the offset in the value box.
  5. In the dialog box, click .
