Creating an Elevator Shaft

Elevator lets you create an elevator shaft, which is a specialized shaft structure that can penetrate multiple stories and has shaft walls, a pit below, and a clear overhead space above the structure. An elevator shaft can penetrate the main building roof and have its own independent roof.

  1. To sketch an elevator shaft
    1. From the Building section of the action bar, click Positioned Sketch .

      Note: You can create a sketch using Sketcher.

    2. In the 3D area, sketch the elevator shaft.
    3. In the Sketcher app, in the Sketch section of the action bar, click Exit App .
  2. From the Building section, click Elevator .
  3. From the Elevator dialog box, click Profile .
  4. In the 3D area, click the sketch of the elevator.
  5. To remove walls from the elevator, from the Elevator Shaft dialog box, click Remove Walls .
  6. To change the number of stories in the elevator shaft, from the Elevator dialog box in Number of stories, enter or select your entry.
  7. To change the elevation for the bottom of the elevator shaft, in Starting Story, select a story.
  8. In Extend Downward, enter the distance by which the walls of the elevator extend downward beyond the bottom of the primary slab of the starting story.
  9. Click .
