Generating Solar Radiation Maps

Solar Radiation lets you create a Solar Radiation Map to study the intensity of solar radiation on different faces of the selected bodies or building models.

  1. In the Solar Radiation dialog box, click Select Bodies box and select one or more bodies or buildings from the tree or from the 3D area.

    Note: You can also use the Tools Palette to aid in the selection of the bodies or buildings.

  2. Under Start Date, perform the following steps:
    1. From the Date calendar, select a date.
    2. Enter the Start time Hours and Minutes.
  3. Under End Date, perform the following steps:
    1. From the Date calendar, select a date.
    2. Enter the End time Hours and Minutes.

    Important: The end time must be between 1 hour and 23 hours 30 minutes later than the start time.

  4. Click Apply to view the Solar Radiation map for the present settings.
