About Changing Slab Thickness and Story Height for Individual Stories

When you create the first mass for a building project, the system uses the slab thickness settings and story height settings for every story in the project including stories for additional masses you create in the project. You can, however, change the value for either element for any story in the project.

There are times when you do want to change the story height of an individual story. For example, the first floor may need to have a higher story height to accommodate the lobby design. With the context toolbar command, Story Height , you can change the story height for an individual story.

Likewise, you may want to change the primary slab thickness for an individual story as well as for the pit floor of an elevator shaft. For example, the below-ground parking garage on Story -1, may require a thicker primary slab. Or, you may want, a thicker slab for the elevator pit in an elevator shaft. With the context toolbar command, Slab Thickness , you can change the primary slab thickness for an individual story or for the pit floor of a particular elevator.
