About Managing Large Projects

To allow individual architects and designers to work independently on separate portions of a building project, a lead architect or manager can divide a project into separate tabs.

The separate tabs can allow individual designers and architects to work independently on a separate buildings or floors while another architect works independently on elements that affect a whole building or several stories.

For example, in a five story building, the lead architect could add these additional tabs:

  • Five tabs, one for each story.
  • A separate tab for the Shell and Core, where an architect could add openings, curtain walls, elevators, stairs, and stairwells.

Architects and designers search for and open their separate tabs. While they work, they use the 3DEXPERIENCE platform collaboration tools. The lead architect continues to use the first tab, which reflects all changes the architects and designers make in the other tabs.
