About Curtain Walls

A curtain wall is a non-load bearing, outside wall with a repeating pattern. The Curtain Wall function is for quickly designing simple wall patterns across a planar or singularly curved surface in simple u and v pattern.

With the Curtain Wall feature, you can create a planar or curved curtain wall. The determining factor is the shape of the wall you select for the curtain wall. If you select a flat outer wall, the system automatically creates a planar curtain wall.

If you create a building with curves and select a curved wall, the system automatically adjusts the curtain wall to the curve of the wall.

With the Curtain Wall feature, you can alter the mullions, transoms, borders, and panels. You can also adjust the pattern from the 3D area.

While you create and edit the curtain wall, the system displays the curtain wall pattern using different colors.

  • The blue lines indicate the start of the repeating horizontal and vertical patterns.
  • The yellow lines indicate the repeating horizontal and vertical patterns.
  • The blue lines in combination with the yellow lines constitute the repeating pattern definition.
  • The gray lines display the resulting pattern.
